Hello Everyone,
What an amazing day! A dynamite day back from the weekend and filled with lots of learning. The students this morning worked on their new spelling words and we discussed their weekly journal today as a small group. They are excited about writing about their three wishes and what they will they will choose!
In Math, we worked in small groups and continued our focus on our addition and subtraction strategies. The small groups were given the challenge of completing two separate problems and outlining in detail how they would meet the success criteria. With complete satisfaction all of the groups worked diligently together and provided fundamentally creative solutions to the problems. All groups clearly expressed the learning strategies that have been taught and the final product was neat and accurate.
Today in LA we continued our work on our novel study and will have one more day until we transition into our new novel, "Freckle Juice", by Judy Blume.
This afternoon was an amazing afternoon in Science where we engaged in an incredible lesson on Pollution. The class discussed Air, Water, and Land pollution and its effects on the global environment. We openly outlined types of pollution and our solutions to this problems. Fundamental connections were established with everyone and the students gained interesting insights into how they themselves can shape the world around them.
Thank you for the learning opportunity… Grade Two's.
