We began the day with morning announcements and "O Canada" and transitioned into today's spelling exercise on contractions. The class was full of energy and looking forward to the up coming math lesson on creating a story problem. Today's Learning Goal was "We learned how to write a story problem and use a new math strategy to solve it". The story problems were incredibly insightful and accurate!
Following math we continued our work on our novel study and the student's comprehension of Chapter Two, was well thought out and fundamentally executed. Building upon the discussion questions from yesterday's reading the class worked cooperatively and formed well developed complete sentence answers to their chapter questions.
The afternoon, brought the forming of wonderful new friendships and fellowship with our visit from our sister school St. Judes Academy! The children played together and enjoyed their time together in class. After spending time with one another both schools met together in the gym and participated in a ribbon ceremony where they students were divided into their school houses.
The day concluded with a lesson on "Air Temperature" in Science and some wonderful discussions focusing on this topic.
